The ESFA are thrilled to be embarking on the fourth PlayStation Schools’ Cup Finals Festival, to take place at Derby County FC’s Pride Park Stadium from Monday 17 – Wednesday 19 May 2017.
About the ESFA PlayStation Schools’ Cup Finals 2017
Players from across England will be preparing to take centre stage at Derby County FC next week as they take part in the ESFA PlayStation Schools’ Cup Festival. From the 15– 17 May, 30 school finalists will be given the full match day experience, making their way to the Home or Away dressing room before walking out onto the hallowed turf at Pride Park. Teams have competed throughout the season through a number of knock-out rounds across the 18 PlayStation Schools’ Cup competitions and the finalists will now be looking forward to a first rate footballing experience at Pride Park, to determine who will become National Champions 2017.
With free entry for all attendees, the ESFA PlayStation Schools’ Cup Festival provides a memorable occasion for school friends, family members, general spectators and football fans alike, with over 5,000 spectators attending last year’s finals. As well as cheering on the Finalists, a series of spectator competitions and activities will contribute to the carnival atmosphere.
Further to this and following the success of last year’s newest addition, all 15 National Finals will be broadcast live, in HD and for free via the PlayStation Schools’ Cup website. Last year’s finals were viewed over 60,000 times and all games are given the full professional live TV treatment, with multiple camera angles, instant replays and a commentary team including former Liverpool and England defender, John Scales.
For those who can’t catch the action live, post-event highlights will be added to the PlayStation Schools’ Cup YouTube Channel, as well as a ‘Goals of the Festival’ compilation.
The links to each day of the festival can be found below:
Come Along and Get Involved
We want to encourage as many people as possible to come along to Pride Park and enjoy the fantastic environment the Festival provides to all involved. Live football is enhanced by the atmosphere created by football fans and we hope to be able to give the 30 National Finalists a real buzz as they step out onto the pitch for their final game of the ESFA Season.
Entry to the stadium is FREE to all spectators, activities and refreshments kiosks are available for spectators to enjoy and purchase from and, most importantly, the festival provides a wonderful example to schools’ football teams of what they can aspire to achieve with hard work.
With 5 matches per day, each day, spectators can arrive at any time and be able to not only watch some fantastic football but also have the opportunity to get involved with any other activities dedicated for spectator entertainment – along with some fantastic and exciting surprise special guests!
