Cramlington High School 2
Gilesgate Sports College 1

Cramlington's march to the Final of the Under 18 Schools' Trophy took another step forward last night as they overcame Gilesgate Sports College from Durham.

Cramlington took the lead 15 minutes into the game thanks to a bullet like header from Lindsay Collinson that gave the Gilesgate goalkeeper no chance.

Although Cramlington took the lead, Gilesgate had certainly started the stronger and had a number of good chances saved by David Cooper in the Cramlington goal. Indeed on the hour Gilesgate managed to level when a weak back pass was intercepted and brilliantly finished by the Gilesgates front man David Bell. This seemed to spark the Cramlington boys into action and just before half time Lindsay Collinson scored again via an unstoppable curling drive from all of 35 yards.

In the second half both defences got on top and cancelled each other out. Although their was a late rally by Gilesgate, Cramlington hung on and now go through the quarter finals hoping for a home tie.
